Prodigy
More actions
In pen spinning, a Prodigy is a spinner that is considered to have far surpassed the level they would be expected to be at for their experience in the hobby.
The term 'prodigy' was used occasionally on UCPSB[1] but the term didn't begin to pick up until a thread on UPSB V3 was made about it, with people sharing experiences of individuals who picked up tricks at a far faster rate than others[2]. The definition of what made a spinner considered a prodigy has never been concrete, but it typically implies someone who can compete on Pen Spinning World Tournament level without needing the usual minimum amount of time spinning, which has varied over time.
Super Prodigies
A subset of prodigy spinners, a Super Prodigy is a spinner who performs at the highest possible level in a short period of time. Super Prodigies have made up a significant chunk of World Champion spinners, and below is a list of World Champions considered to have been super prodigies:
Other notable super-prodigies include MKSFT, TheBloodGod0, Sututu, Ketain and Tetora.
