TT23

From Fen Spinner Wiki

TT 2023 or Thaispinner Tournament 2023 was a tournament organized by nive from THPSC which only included Thai spinners. Announcements were made through Facebook and Discord.

Judging criteria

The criteria were based on the Pen Spinning World Tournament 2021 criteria, with no sub-criteria.[1]

  • Execution (12 points)
  • Difficulty (10 points)
  • Originality (10 points)
  • Effectiveness (8 points)
  • Presentation (up to 2 points can be deducted)

Tournament structure

The participants were first divided into two groups: Group A and Group B. In the first round, the five highest ranked spinners from each group moved on to the next round, while the others were eliminated. Round 2 followed a head-to-head format, in which the judges' rating determined the winner. Since there were five judges, the spinner who won according to the most amount of judges ultimately won the battle, and proceeded to the next round. The third round was formatted as a free-for-all between the remaining participants, and the two highest ranked spinners advanced to the final round, where they would battle to win the tournament.

The competition was judged by the five following spinners:

Finals[6]

The final round left confusion as to who actually won the tournament. One of the judges, Patchwork, failed to finish their judging sheet before the deadline, and the results of their judging were used three days later in an official announcement. The revision after the announcement contradicted the original draft by placing nive as the tournament winner rather than PHUM. As the results had already been announced, however, PHUM was declared the official winner, leaving nive as runner-up.[7].
