Malimo G3

The Malimo G3 is a personal mod made by Malimo.

Construction

Parts needed

List from Malimo's blog:

• 1x G3 (barrel and backplug)
• 1x Signo DX (grip)
• 2x Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip (2 tips)
• 1x Pilot SuperGrip (grip)
• 1x Jimnie (cap)
• 1x Zebra Hyper Jell (grip)
• 1x Pilot Hi-Tec-C (tip)

Additional items

• Tape
• An insert

Text tutorial

Preparation

1. Remove the Jimnie cap clip. Use the Jimnie cap with a fully removable clip.
2. Empty the G3 barrel and retain its backplug. Remove the grip and prepare the G3 front by filing the small bumps and front section.
3. Cut a 5 mm Signo DX grip section.
4. Remove 2 mm from the rear of the Hyperjell grip.

Assembly

Front

1. Stack an HGG tip onto the Hi-Tec-C tip and secure the stack with clear tape.
   

   

   
   
2. Screw the Hi-Tec-C tip onto the G3 front and secure it with clear tape.
   

   

   
   
3. Fit the 5 mm Signo DX section, then the whole SuperGrip grip, onto the front with the SuperGrip’s smooth end toward the barrel.
   

   

   
   

Rear cap

1. Insert the remaining HGG tip and the retained G3 backplug into the Hyperjell grip. Adjust the backplug position to suit your preference.
   

   

   
   
   

   

   
   
2. Insert the assembled Hyperjell grip into the Jimnie cap.
   

   

   
   
3. Add an insert inside the G3 barrel if desired. Wrap tape around the rear of the barrel as needed, then fit the prepared Jimnie cap.
