The Pen Spinning Olympics 2020, more commonly known as PSO20, were the second Pen Spinning Olympics. They were organized by Ketain, assisted by RPD and Patchwork for the rulebook, and brought together 110 pen spinners from 17 pen spinning communities.
Category
These category represents the aspect in which participants were judged, each category acts as it's own tournament.
This theme revolve around the usage of change of direction.
Wipers
In this category, spinners were judged on their wiper trick, this include how they're executed and how creative these are.
Structure of the tournament
Each category acted like an independent tournament, and 2 formats were set up.
One round categories
Multi-mod and Stand-up categories used this format.
The winner is determined directly by the judges's rankings.
Three round categories
The Aesthetics, 2 Hands, Power, Wipers and Counters categories used this format.
1st round
Participants are placed in a single pool. The 8 best placed move on to the next round if the category had at least 12 participants, the 5 best placed otherwise, the others are eliminated.
2nd round
Participants who have qualified are again in a single pool. The best-placed 2 advance to the next round, the others are eliminated.
3rd round
Final between the two qualified participants.
Participants
Each participant could enter a maximum of 2 categories. A community did not need to have a participant for each category, and could send no more than 5 participants for each category for JEB, PSH and FPSB, no more than 4 for UPSB, and no more than 3 for the other communities.
