Apogeum M8 (also known as the Lego Mod) is a bolt-tipped mod created in 2024 by Mervo, a Polish PPP-based spinner. It is the sixth iteration of a design first created in 2019.

Most of the mod’s parts are sourced from Temu, excluding the Giotto Turbo Maxi components. The mod uses bolts as tips and costs approximately €4 to make, although the final price may vary depending on the cost of the Giotto Turbo Maxi parts.

The construction is straightforward, but some parts may need to be adjusted to fit together. A circular file may be needed for this. Boiling water can be used to stretch the grips so that they fit the “cap,” and a pipe cutter is strongly recommended for clean cuts to the body.

Parts needed

3x Giotto Turbo Maxi (barrels and backplugs)
1x Temu mod (grips; can be substituted with DGG, but this produces a noticeable difference of approximately 3 g and changes the overall feel)
1x Crayola Supertip (barrel), or an alternative with the same width
2x M8 30 mm bolts

Additional tools

Paper tape
Circular file

Additional information

The protruding silicone sections of the Temu mod can be used as decorative grips.
The weight can be adjusted. For a lighter mod, use shorter M8 bolts.
The length can also be adjusted. For a longer mod, lengthen the Giotto section that attaches to the Giotto backplug. Alternatively, for a shorter mod, use a 20 mm M8 bolt with one M8 nut.
File or sand the sharp edges of the bolts to avoid damaging the grips.
Silicone tubing or clear grip can also be used for a different design.
