Apogeum

From Fen Spinner Wiki

Apogeum M8 (also known as The Lego Mod) is a bolt-tipped mod made by Polish PPP-based spinner Mervo in 2024. The mod is the 6th iteration since the original in 2019. The mod is extremely cheap to make since it uses parts sourced from Temu, excluding the Giotto Turbo Maxi . It also uses bolts as tips. The cost of the mod is ~4€; the price could vary depending on the price of the Giotto Turbo Maxi.

The mod’s construction is very simple, but it requires a circular file in order to make the parts fit each other easier. Also, using boiling water to stretch out the grips so they can fit the "cap" is recommended. And it is also strongly advised to use a pipe cutter for proper cuts on the body.

Construction

Parts needed

the temu mod

  • 3x Giotto Turbo Maxi (Barrel, Backplug)
  • 1x Temu mod (grips)(can be subbed with DGG but has a noticeable difference of 3 grams and overall feel)
  • 1x Crayola Supertip (barrel) or alternative with the same width
  • 2x M8 30mm bolts

Additional tools

  • Pipe cutter
  • Paper tape
  • Circular file

Additional information

  • You can use the silicone bits that stick out on the Temu mod and use them as decorative grips.
  • The weight can be adjusted. For lighter mod use, shorter M8s.
  • The length can also be adjusted. If you want a longer mod, elongate the Giotto section that goes on the Giotto backplug, or take a shorter M8 eg 20mm M8 with 1 M8 nut.
  • File or sand down the sharp edges on the bolt to avoid damaging the grips.
  • You can also use silicone tubing or clear grip for a different design.
