Text tutorial[2]

  1. Disassemble both Fabrico or compatible Tsukineko markers, removing the backplugs, caps, ink and felt tips. Cut off the narrow front noses.

  2. Cut a 1 cm ring from a large Color Twin cap and file its interior until it fits snugly over the connector barrel.

  3. Cut a 4–5 cm Color Twin barrel connector. The source usually finds 4 cm sufficient; choose the end that fits the particular marker rear openings.

  4. Fit the cap ring around the connector’s centre and join the two marker rear openings with it.

  5. Disassemble both Dr. Grip G-Spec mechanical pencils and retain two matching metal-tube sections. Ennis specifies approximately two-thirds of the tube, about 3.33 cm; the reproduced photos use approximately 3.5 cm.

  6. Remove both Airfit mechanical-pencil lead sleeves. Tape each until it fits snugly inside a retained metal tube.
  7. Insert each metal-tube assembly into a Marvy backplug, lead-sleeve end first. Add tape for a secure fit.

  8. From each G-Spec grip, retain the front half and rear quarter. The photographed 4.8 cm grips provide 2.4 cm fronts and 1.2 cm rear sections; discard the middle quarters.

  9. Retain the smooth part and two stripes of each SuperGrip grip. Prepare two 2-stripe Anyball sections.

  10. At each marker’s cut front, fit a Tect-2-Way ring and the G-Spec rear-quarter grip. Insert the prepared Marvy backplug weight assembly, then fit two Anyball stripes around the backplug.

  11. Fit the prepared SuperGrip section over this assembly, stripes toward the outer end. Adjust it so the Marvy backplug end remains slightly exposed.

  12. Overgrip with the G-Spec front-half section. Repeat at the other end.
