SS or Swespin is the Swedish Pen Spinning Community.
History
In early 2006, Ceedgee discovered pen spinning. He later decided to start a Swedish pen spinning community, creating SweSpin.se on April 6, 2006, though he had already started work on the website about two weeks prior. It began as a shoutbox where he discussed his progress on the community and the website, mentioning Swedish tutorials, a trick-ranking system, and the first SweSpin CV, also edited by Ceedgee.
On April 18, the website went public, and on April 19, the first two SweSpin tutorials on the Bakaround and Thumbaround were published. On April 21, Ceedgee created a forum. SweSpin quickly gained popularity, releasing their first promo on May 12 and a CV in December. The last message from Ceedgee on the forum was posted on February 9, 2007, announcing the Pen Spinning World Tournament 2007 before the "reform," as he called it.
On August 23, 2007, Ceedgee revamped the website, transforming it into a portal style. He organized a meeting shortly after in Stockholm, Täby, which 17 people attended.
In November, when the Pen Spinning World Cup 2008 was announced, SweSpin formed a team consisting of sfsr, ålan, Ceedgee, bävern, hamor, and Pe/PDR. SweSpin advanced to the third round but ultimately lost to JEB. SweSpin remained active, regularly publishing CVs, promos, and holding gatherings.
In 2012, SweSpin started to decline, with fewer posts, videos, and less overall activity. This continued until 2014, when SweSpin.se was sold.
In 2015, NaabZer opened SweSpin V2 under the URL www.swespin.org and released a SweSpin revival collab and participated in Spinfest. SweSpin released new tutorials and organized gatherings. However, SweSpin remained largely inactive, with no new members joining and the same eight long-time members participating. In 2017, SweSpin.org was sold again.
