Saturn mod

The Saturn mod is a double-sided power-oriented mod made by Korean spinner, Saturn.

Construction

Parts needed

• x2 Tombow Playcolor2 (Barrels and one backplug)
• x2 Zebra Airfit BA-9 (2 tips, 1 grip, 2 metal rings (Optional))
• x3 decorative strips (Optional)

Text tutorial

1. Empty and fully Disassemble both Playcolor2 pens, retaining their barrels and one backplug.
2. Cut off the narrow front sections of both barrels.
   

   

   
   
3. Cut an Airfit grip in half for the two end grips. Matching halves from two grips may be used for different colours.
   

   

   
   
4. Join the two barrels at their rear openings using the retained Playcolor2 backplug.
   

   

   
   
5. Fit an Airfit grip half over each cut front and insert an Airfit tip into each grip.
   

   

   
   
   

   

   
   
6. Add decorative grips and Airfit metal rings if desired. The source notes that the original uses one Anyball block to retain each metal ring.
   

   

   
   
7. For Menowa’s variant, replace the backplug connector with a suitably cut Round Stic Grip barrel to obtain a more symmetric joint.
