RSVP MX Mechanical Pencil

RSVP MX Mechanical Pencil is a mechanical-pencil mod built around an RSVP barrel and a multipen pencil mechanism. It measures about 19 cm and weighs 14 g. Its cost depends on the multipen used.

Construction

Parts needed

• 1 RSVP pen (everything except the refill)
• 1 Pilot AirBlanc (back cap and ink tube); a Pilot Super Grip back plug and tube can be substituted
• 1 Pilot Super Grip grip
• 1 Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip tip
• 1 multipen containing a mechanical-pencil mechanism
• 2–3mm of spare grip

Tutorial

Use the annotated photographs below as a guide to the cuts and component fit.

1. Set out the RSVP barrel, cap, back cap and grip, the AirBlanc clicker and ink tube, the multipen pencil mechanism, the HGG tip, Super Grip grip and a small spare grip piece.

   

2. Join the pencil mechanism to the AirBlanc ink tube and secure the joint with tape. File the RSVP front to fit the mechanism diameter, then fit the mechanism into the RSVP body.

   

   

3. Glue the HGG tip at the mechanism's front. Add the Super Grip grip and small spare grip section as pictured.

   

   

   

4. Fit the RSVP back cap over the AirBlanc tube and cut the tube at the marked point.

   

5. Prepare the RSVP cap and AirBlanc clicker assembly. Cut the RSVP grip to 11mm and place it inside the cap.

   

   

   

6. Cut 3cm from the AirBlanc ink tube and glue it into the cap assembly as shown.

   

   

   

7. Insert lead from the front when using the finished mod as a pencil.
