Oribia Fitline

The Oribia Fitline is a double-sided mod by Oribia. The earlier mechanical-pencil-tip version weighs 22 g. The version described below uses Pilot Opt ballpoint tips; its weight is unspecified. A weight of 21 g has also been reported, without identifying the tip variant.

Construction

Parts needed

• 2 Pentel Fitline barrels
• 2 Pilot Vega Gel grips
• 1 Pilot SuperGrip grip (two one-ring sections)
• 2 Pilot Opt ballpoint tips and grips (the earlier design used mechanical-pencil tips)
• 1 Daiso highlighter or Dong-A Comssa barrel connector
• 1 Fabrico Emboss small cap
• Decorative grip rings

Text tutorial

1. Empty the Fitline markers and cut off their writing tips.

   

2. Cut the Daiso highlighter or Comssa connector barrel to 6.4 cm.

   

3. Cut the Fabrico Emboss small cap to 14 mm. Cut two one-ring sections from the SuperGrip grip.

   

   

4. Place the Emboss cap and SuperGrip sections on the connector as shown, then join the Fitline barrels to it.

   

5. Separate the ridged and smooth sections of each Vega Gel grip by cutting between them.

   

6. Orient each Opt grip as shown and place an Opt ballpoint tip inside so it sits flush with the grip edge. Fit the ridged Vega section so it is also flush.

   

7. Add decorative grip rings to both Fitline barrels. The example uses two one-ring Sailor sections and one 6 mm Dr. Grip section per side.

   

8. Place each prepared tip package on the barrel and adjust the decorative rings.
