MeowSTA

The MeowSTA is an inverted mod made by Xeran on the 27th of August, 2020.

History

Originally based on the Fenboss mod, it was originally named the Fengear as a parody of Menowa*'s STA Gear mod. V 0 1 D, the creator of the Fenboss, took issue with this, as the mod did not use Penzgear parts and Xeran was not a Fen, which would have confusingly associated the mod with V 0 1 D instead. After some arguing that resulted in no change V 0 1 D created a Giotto mod that he then named the Fengear as well, which other spinners and modders took some interest in and started making instead. It was then that Xeran began occasionally using the informal name 'Catgear' and tweaking the design.

V 0 1 D suggested the name be changed instead to 'MeowSTA' after the way that palicoes (small feline humanoids) greet humans in the Monster Hunter games, referring to them as 'Meowster' instead of 'Mister'. The name was finally officially changed from Fengear to MeowSTA on 10th Feb, 2021, ending the war over the Fengear name as V 0 1 D would release a second generation Fengear mod.

Construction

Parts needed

• 2x Emboss (Two small caps)
• 2x Pilot Opt Shaker (Two tips)
• 2x Uni-ball Signo (Two tips)
• 2x Pilot Dr. Grip Shaker (Two grips)
• 2x Pentel ColorTwin (Two caps)
• 2x Pilot Supergrip (Two grips)
• 1x Pilot G2 (Grip)
• 2x Pilot Airblanc (Two grips)
• 1x STA Aquarelle (Barrel)
• 2x Tulip Dual-Tip (Two backplugs)

Text Tutorial

1. Empty and clean the STA barrel
2. Take backplugs off the Tulip markers and remove the nibs
3. Cut 1cm from the lip of the small Emboss caps
4. Cut DGGs in half
5. Cut 2 separate rings from the middle of the ridged section of the G2 grip
6. Cut 3 sections from the front of the Supergrips
7. Cut 1cm from the back of the Airblancs
8. Hollow the CT caps
9. Push one of the cut Supergrip sections into the CT cap, cut side facing in
10. Put an inverted Signo tip into the Supergrip grip, the tip should sit flush with the grip
    

    

    
    
11. Put inverted Opt tip into the Signo tip
12. Push one of the short Emboss cap section over the Opt tip, cut side facing out
13. Put a G2 ring into the small Emboss cap
    

    

    
    
14. Put a front half of DGG onto the Emboss and CT cap. Small cap and g2 section should be flush with the inside of the DGG
15. Put Airblanc section onto front of Tulip backplug
16. Push Tulip backplug into CT cap
17. Wrap tape onto back of the Tulip backplug until it can fit snugly into the STA barrel
    

    

    
    
18. Repeat steps 9-17 for the other cap
19. Push assemblies onto STA barrel
20. Complete
