Menowa* Symmetrical G3

The Menowa* Symmetrical G3 is a double-sided mod by Menowa*. It joins two shortened Pilot G3 barrels with a short connecting barrel section and matching weighted caps.

Construction

Parts needed

• 2 Pilot G3 (barrels and caps)
• 1 Pilot G2 barrel (or same-diameter section such as a CT barrel)
• 2 Muji Aluminum Pen tips (Signo tips can be substituted)
• 1 Zebra Hyper Jell grip (Jimknock or Jimnie grip can substitute)
• 1–2 Dong-a Anyball grips
• 2 Zebra Airfit metal rings (optional)
• Decorative grip sections

Text tutorial

1. Disassemble both G3 pens. Remove the front grips and prepare the barrels. Cut each barrel to 7.2 cm from the start of the main body, then trim the front to 7 mm; sand the small squares if needed.
2. Cut a 1.4–1.5 cm section from the non-threaded part of the G2 barrel. Sand the G3 fronts just enough to fit the connector snugly, test-fitting often. Pipe cutters can crack the brittle G3 plastic. Cut slowly with a saw or toothed-edge knife.
3. Wrap an insert and fit it inside the connector, then join the two G3 barrel sections.
4. Remove clips and rubber stoppers from the G3 caps and trim 1 cm from each cap. Put a Muji Aluminum tip and a 4 mm Hyper Jell section into each cap; add decorative grips.
5. Place an Anyball grip block and Airfit ring on the joined body. Add a second Anyball block for a more symmetrical appearance if desired.
6. Insert liners into the G3 barrels and attach one prepared cap to each end.
