G3 MMx

G3 MMx is a single-sided mod by Near that combines a Pilot G3 body and cap with a cut G2 barrel section and an internal HGG tip stack.

Construction

Parts needed

• 1x Pilot G3 (body and cap)
• 1x Pilot G2 (back section)
• 2x Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip (tips and grip)
• 1x Pilot G1 (ink tube)

Text tutorial

1. Break off the G3 cap clip and remove the silicone ink stopper.
2. Cut the G2 body at its transparent ring.
3. Cut a 0.6 cm section from the HGG grip. Put the longer grip pieces inside the G3 cap and the shorter section over its outside.
4. Remove the G3 grip and file the front of the body smooth. Put the cap on the back.
5. Cut 2 cm from the G2 ink tube, place two HGG tips over it, and insert this stack into the front of the G3 body; use putty if needed.
6. Fit the cut G2 body section over the front of the G3.
7. Shorten the G3 ink tube slightly, then insert it upside down into the G3 body with the insert in place.
