Dr.Kt Mechanical Pencil

Dr.Kt Mechanical Pencil (Dr.KT MP) is a retractable mechanical-pencil mod by KunLin, based on the Dr. KT. It is about the same length as the Dr. KT and slightly heavier.

Construction

Parts needed

• 1 Dr. KT (all parts)
• 1 Dr. Grip Shaker (mechanism)
• 1 Bic Round Stic (ink tube)
• Tape

Text tutorial

1. Drill a hole through one Dr. KT cap large enough for the Bic ink tube to pass through. File the raised nub on that cap flat, then cut and drill a matching opening in the Dr. KT body.

   

   Step 1.

   
   

2. File the indicated part of the Dr. Grip Shaker mechanism until it is flush with the lead tube.
3. Disassemble the Bic Round Stic, wash the ink from its tube, and cut the tube to 6.3 cm. Adjust the length if needed.
4. Tape the cut Bic tube to the mechanical-pencil mechanism tube to make a combined tube about 17 cm long. Make the joint sturdy.
5. Assemble the front cap into the body.

6. Push the head end of the Bic tube snugly into the second Dr. KT cap.
7. Add tape to the body where needed to reduce rattling; adjust by trial and error.

8. Fit the cap so the Bic tube engages the component inside it.
