- 1 Uni-ball Signo DX (tip and grip)
- An insert for the barrel and cap
- Tape; optional spare grip rings or decorative metal/silicone rings
Text tutorial
- Prepare the G3 front sections as shown: separate the perforated part, smooth part, 4-block grip part and 2-block grip part. Remove the perforated part. Before removing the grip, carefully cut off its small retaining squares with a nail clipper so the grip does not stretch.
- Cut 4.9 cm from the rear of the patterned G2 barrel. When the G3 front is fitted inside it, stop it at the small middle bump; beyond the bump, the G2 barrel narrows.
- Cut the G3 front to 1.8 cm. Remove its grips carefully and sand the barrel only enough to fit inside the G2. Preserve the 2 mm star-side portion without sanding to keep the joint strong.
- Cut the G2 grip and Signo DX grip to 2.2 cm. Remove the clip and small rubber stopper from the G3 cap.
- Prepare the G2 barrel. Optionally add a decorative metal or silicone ring. Use the smooth G3 grip section to join the Signo tip to the G2 barrel. Put the original two-stripe front section of G3 grip onto the back of the G3 front.
- Trim 1 mm from the DX grip so an insert can fit in the cap. Put the rubber stopper inside the G3 back plug.
- Build the cap in this order: G3 tip, G3 grip section, prepared back plug and stopper, then the trimmed DX grip. Put the leftover G2 grip onto the cap.
- Add inserts to both the cap and barrel, tape the rear of the G3, and add spare grip rings at the G3 front or DX-grip end to adjust the balance.
