Shadix G3 is a G3 mod designed by Shadix. It combines a plastic G3 barrel with a Frixion Colors cap and a stacked front-tip assembly.[1][2]
Construction
Parts needed
- 1 plastic Pilot G3 (barrel and tip)
- 1 Pilot Frixion Colors cap
- 1 Uni-ball Signo DX (tip, grip and rear plug)
- 3 Dong-A Anyball grips
- Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip grip
- Ohto Metallic Gel tip
- Pilot Hi-Tec C tip
- Tape or glue
Tutorial
- Sand the projections from the G3 barrel and put an insert inside it.
- Remove the rubber nub at the end of the Frixion cap and its inner tip cover. Glue the Signo DX rear plug into the front of the cap and fit a four-cell Anyball grip section over it.
- Put the Hi-Tec C tip and an HGG grip inside the cap, then fit the cap assembly onto the G3 body.
- Sand the Ohto Metallic Gel tip until it sits steadily against the Signo tip. Stack the G3 tip, filed Metallic Gel tip and Signo tip in that order and secure them with tape or glue.
- On the front tip stack, add three Anyball grip sections, the Signo grip and three more Anyball sections. Use tape instead of glue if you want to avoid permanently fixing the uncommon Metallic Gel tip.
- If the cap rattles, stretch the HGG grip or add about 1mm of grip. Remove the Frixion cap’s printed mark with an eraser if desired.[1][2]
