PK G3 Mod (Love mod)

The PK G3 Mod (Love mod) is a single-sided mod by Peda, built around a Pilot G3 barrel with a custom front assembly and a Hyperjell cap at the rear. It measures 21 cm and weighs 18.5 g.

Construction

Parts needed

• 1x Pilot G3 (barrel, tip, and ink tube; remove its grip and omit the backcap)
• 1x Hyperjell (cap and grip)
• 2x HGG (two grips and one tip)
• 1x Faber-Castell Grip Matic (tip)
• 1x Pilot G2 (front section)
• 1x Signo RT (grip)
• 2x Penwish rings
• 1x Signo Broad (grip)
• 1x Anyball grip
• Insert (type and fit unspecified)

Text Tutorial

1. Remove the G3 grip, file down the square ridges, and trim the barrel just behind its raised bump. Add tape at the rear to help retain the Hyperjell cap.
2. Prepare the G2 front section to about 2.8 cm, then file its outside diameter until it fits the G3 barrel.
3. Place the G3 ink tube inside the barrel and use tape to secure the front and rear interfaces.

   

4. Trim one HGG grip to its ring and cut the second to about 2 cm from its ring. Arrange the two grips at the front and wrap tape so the G3 tip seats firmly.

   

5. Cut the Signo RT grip into a 2.9 cm main section and a shorter piece beginning at 1.2 cm, as illustrated. Cut the Hyperjell grip to 2.8 cm.
6. Layer the small Signo RT section, Penwish rings, short grip piece, remaining Signo RT grip, HGG ring, and two Anyball stripes in the illustrated order.
7. Cut a 0.7 cm ink-tube segment and fit it into the HGG tip. Tape its other end so it can be retained by the Grip Matic tip.
8. Remove and file the Hyperjell cap clip. Fit the front assembly into the cap, then add the 2.8 cm Hyperjell grip and a 0.4 cm Signo Broad grip section.
9. Add an insert to the G3 barrel and fit the Hyperjell cap.
