Nishin G3

The Nishin G3 is a single-sided mod by Nishin. It measures 19.5 cm, weighs 12.23 g, and uses an insert.

Construction

Parts needed

• 2 Pilot G3 plastic-version pens (barrel and two plastic tips)
• 1 Pilot Frixion Colors cap
• 1 Zebra Hyper Jell grip (or the later 1.6 cm Signo DX grip variant)
• 1 Uni-ball Signo DX tip and grip
• 1 Pentel Color Twin barrel
• 1 HGG or Hybrid Fine grip and tip
• 1 Zebra D1-K grip (or later Anyball variant)
• An insert and tape

Text tutorial

1. Remove the plastic insert inside the Frixion Colors cap but keep its rubber nub.
2. Cut the Color Twin barrel to 4 cm measured from the front; trim further if needed.
3. Fit the HGG tip to the Color Twin section. Wrap an insert around this section and place it inside the Frixion cap.
4. File the inside of one G3 plastic tip so the completed tip stack does not extend too far.
5. Clear the front of the G3 barrel: remove its grip and smooth the small square ridges and front edge.
6. Make the tip stack from a G3 tip, the hollowed G3 tip, and the Signo tip.
7. Fit 1 cm of Hyper Jell grip over the G3 front, followed by the HGG grip. The later variant replaces the Hyper Jell with 1.6 cm of Signo DX grip.
8. Add D1-K grip to the Frixion section to adjust the balance; the later version substitutes Anyball grip.
9. Tape the rear of the G3 barrel, add an insert, and connect the Frixion cap assembly to the barrel.
