Migi G3 mod

The Migi G3 Mod is a G3-based pen mod by Migi. Its construction joins part of an HGG barrel to the G3 body and uses a layered cap assembly.

Construction

Parts needed

• 1 metallic-version Pilot G3 (all parts except cap)
• 1 Zebra Hyper Jell (cap and grip)
• 2 Pentel HGG (one barrel, one grip, and two tips)
• 1 Uni-ball Signo Broad (grip and tip)
• 1 Sailor Gel/Gel Wave/Duraflash-type grip
• 1 Signo Knock, Impact RT, or Spoko grip

Text tutorial

1. Remove the G3 grip without cutting it. Prepare the front of the barrel and remove the screw thread.
2. Remove the grip from one HGG barrel and cut 3.2 cm from its front, counting the tip. Join this section to the prepared G3 barrel with tape.

3. Arrange the HGG and Hyper Jell grips as shown. Cut the HGG grip ring and 0.8 cm from the Hyper Jell grip.

4. Screw an HGG tip onto the front and secure a Signo tip over it with reusable adhesive putty. Keep the block section of the original G3 grip and place it beside the HGG grip.
5. Layer Sailor Gel grip stripes around the front: one stripe, the saved G3 grip section, then four more stripes.

6. Trim the cap clip. Insert an HGG tip into the G3 tip. Put that tip assembly, a 1.6 cm Hyper Jell grip section, and a 0.6 cm Signo Broad grip section into the cap. Use electrical tape at the rear to hold the cap on.
