MEL G3

The MEL G3 is a Pilot G3-based mod by MEL, inspired by Fukrou’s G3 V2.

Construction

Parts needed

• 2 Pilot G3 (plastic tips, one barrel, and one grip)
• 1 Uni-ball AIR cap
• 1 Zebra Hyper Jell grip
• 1 Daiso Knock Ball-Point Pen grip
• 1 Pilot SUPER-GP tip
• 1 Pentel RSVP grip
• 1 Uni-ball Signo tip
• 1 Pilot Frixion Colors cap rubber nub

1. Prepare the G3 barrel by sanding its front and small squares. Keep the G3 grip for the cap assembly.
2. Cut six blocks from the Daiso grip. Stack two plastic G3 tips and a Signo tip at the front. Remove the small side bumps on the G3 tips for a neater fit if needed.
3. Fit the cut Daiso grip over the G3 front and cover the tip stack with the Hyper Jell grip.
4. Cut the RSVP grip to 7–8 mm and trim the AIR cap clip. Cut off the Frixion Colors rubber nub, keeping the wider exposed section.
5. Fit the saved rubber section into the SUPER-GP tip, then place that tip in the AIR cap. Insert the G3 grip with its stripes facing inward, followed by the RSVP grip section.
6. Add tape to the rear of the G3 barrel, place an insert inside, and attach the prepared AIR cap.
