The Kouhai G3 is a single-sided mod by Hash, built around a Pilot G-3 barrel with a Uni-ball Air cap.[1]
Construction
Parts needed
- 1 Pilot G-3 (barrel, backplug, plastic tip and grip)
- 1 Uni-ball Air (cap)
- 1 Hybrid Gel Grip tip
- 2 Pilot Hi-Tec-C tips
- Pilot Lakubo grip
- Uni-ball Signo DX grip
- Stabilo Colorgel or Exam Grade grip (RSVP grip can be substituted)
- Optional barrel insert
Text tutorial
- Prepare the G-3 by filing its bumps and small squares. Remove the backplug and add an insert.
- Stack the front tips in this order: G-3 plastic tip, Hi-Tec-C tip, then HGG tip. Glue can be used to hold the stack together.
Front tip assembly - Fit about two blocks of Signo DX grip at the front, followed by the Lakubo grip.
- Remove the clip from the Uni-ball Air cap. Place a Hi-Tec-C tip and Colorgel or Exam Grade grip inside it. An RSVP grip can be substituted; add a small grip ring if it is shorter.
- Push the prepared cap onto the back of the G-3 body.[2]
