Joey DC UE II

Joey DC UE II is a double-sided mod created by Joey. It measures 20.7 cm and weighs approximately 22–23 g.

Construction

Parts needed

• 2 SKB pens (barrels and caps)
• 2 Taiwanese Lion-marking pens (barrel sections)
• 2 Muji Hex markers (caps, short barrel sections and backplugs)
• 2 Uni-ball Signo DX pens (tips and grips)
• 2 Pilot SuperGrip 2020 pens (grips)
• 2 Pilot Juice Up tips
• 1 Kin-Kon grip
• 1 Tombow Playcolor 2 or MyColor backplug (connector)

Text tutorial

1. Cut each Taiwanese Lion-marking pen barrel to 1.1 cm from the back. Cut the SKB barrels to 4.5 cm from the back and remove the printing.
2. Prepare each SKB cap: measure 0.4 cm of the white top from its end and cut it off; remove the long colored portion, cut at the marked line, then file or cut off the small fin.
3. Cut each Muji Hex barrel to 0.8 cm from its thin front end, not including the tip. Cut the tip of each Muji Hex backplug to 1 cm.
4. Place a Lion-marking barrel section over the uncut part of a Muji Hex backplug with the cut end facing inward. Insert the cut Muji barrel into the backplug with its tip entering the plug. Insert the backplug into the SKB barrel with the cut end of the plug inside the barrel.
5. Hollow the Muji Hex caps.
6. Cut each Kin-Kon grip to the base length of a Juice Up tip (about 0.4–0.5 cm), fit it over the tip, and place the tip in an SKB cap.
7. Cut each Pilot SuperGrip 2020 grip at its fourth and seventh front lines to make sections C (front), B (middle) and A (longest). Cut each Signo DX grip to about 0.4 cm and fit it over a Signo tip; place section B over that assembly. Cut two one-block Signo DX sections between the dots.
8. On each large Muji Hex cap, place section C, one one-block Signo DX section, then section A inverted. Insert the SKB cap into the Muji cap. Fit the Signo/B assembly into the SKB cap, then turn section A back so it covers the tip package. Repeat for the other side.
9. Fit the Muji caps over the assemblies from step 4. Cut two 1 mm Signo grip rings and put one on each side of the Playcolor 2 or MyColor backplug. Use that backplug to connect the two SKB barrels.
