G2-CTE Evolved is a heavy, retractable single-sided mod by Guitrum. It adapts the Pilot G2 click mechanism to a marker body and uses a Uni-ball Impact RT tip.[1][2]
Construction
Parts needed
- 1x Zebra Hyper Jell (cap)
- 1x Uni-ball Impact RT (tip, spring and ink tube)
- 1x Pilot Dr. Grip Shaker (grip and metal rod)
- 1x Pilot G2 (all parts)
- 1x marker body: M&M, Art Color Twin, Color Twin or KT
- 1x Beifa grip
- 1x Pilot Profile grip, cut into one 2-ring section and two 3-ring sections (Anyball is listed as an alternative)
Text tutorial
- Cut the Dr. Grip, Profile and Beifa grips into the sections shown below.
- Cut and sand the front of the G2 small-body section.
- Sand the G2 section and screw on the Impact RT tip.
- Tape one end of an insert to the prepared G2 section and wrap the insert around it. Cover the insert with the cut Dr. Grip grip.
- Push the assembly into the rear of the marker body until it meets the base of the Dr. Grip grip. Place a 2-ring Profile grip section behind it and the cut Beifa grip over the Impact RT tip.
- Cut the nub from the front of the marker body and sand the opening until the G2 ink tube slides through freely.
- Disassemble the Hyper Jell cap, remove its clip, and cut off the cap top at the two square holes.
- Slide an insert between the Hyper Jell cap and G2 body until it stops. Trim the excess insert, then cut and sand the G2 body to meet the cap base.
- Put the clicker parts into the cut G2 large-body piece. Add a 3-ring Profile section to the end of the Hyper Jell cap and the other 3-ring section to the marker body. Fit the retractable mechanism and slide the Profile grip up to meet it.
- Empty the G2 ink tube but keep its plastic stopper. Tape the empty tube to the Impact RT tube and trim it by trial until the mechanism retracts fully, replacing the stopper after each cut.
- Insert the Dr. Grip metal rod into the cut G2 tube, far enough to leave room for the plastic stopper.
- Push the assemblies together and test the retracting mechanism.[3]
