Ivan Mod

The Ivan Mod is a personal mod made by Ivan. It is sometimes incorrectly called the Buster CYL v2, due to how it was popularized.

The mod was popularized by Supawit when he used it in the Pen Spinning World Tournament 2011. This came as a surprise as viewers originally thought he used a Buster.

It was commonly made due to the widespread availability of SuperTips but the limited availability of Comssa parts outside of Korea.

The original version used Dr. Grip grips and Hyper Jell grips instead of Airfit and Anyball.

Construction

Parts needed

• 2x SuperTips (barrel)
• 2x Airfit/Dr. Grip Shaker (tip, grip)
• 1x (Optional) Anyball/Hyper Jell (grip)

Text tutorial

This tutorial describes the Airfit and Anyball version.

1. Remove the backplugs, nibs and ink reservoirs from both SuperTips barrels.
2. From one barrel, cut a 4 cm rear section and a 4 cm front section, excluding the narrow nib section from the measurement. Keep the other barrel uncut.
3. Insert the cut front section into the rear of the uncut barrel. Fit the cut rear section over the front of the uncut barrel.
4. Cut one Airfit grip in half.
5. Cut two two-ring Anyball grip sections and fit one onto each end of the extended barrel.
6. Fit an Airfit grip half onto each end.
7. Insert an Airfit tip into the exposed end of each Airfit grip half.
