Gollumsk8, also known as gsk8, is a French pen spinner associated with FPSB. He won the FPSB tournament in 2010, finished second in the 2017 World Tournament and third in the 2019 World Tournament, and placed second in the Multipen category of the 2020 Pen Spinning Olympics.[1][2][3][4][5]
History
Gollumsk8 began spinning around 2005. In the description of his seventh-year solo, uploaded in July 2012, he described having spun for approximately seven years and three months and acknowledged inspiration from older Korean and Japanese spinners and the FPSB community. His twentieth-anniversary solo followed in July 2025.[6][7]
He was a moderator of FPSB v2 and among the members of FarWest, a French group associated with meetings and collaboration videos from 2007 onward.[8]
His competitive career includes the first World Tournament in 2007 and appearances through 2025. In the description of his 2025 first-round entry, he called it his ninth World Tournament, or his tenth when counting the separate 2017 PDS tournament.[9][10] As of 2026 Gollumsk8 is the only pen spinner to have competed in every World Tournament event since the conception of the event. He shared that status with fellow veteran spinner x1212 from TWPS until 2017.

Gollumsk8 created an early 2p1h multipen combo in 2010.[11] By 2012, he was also discussing plans for a solo dedicated to two pens in one hand (2p1h). His later multipen work included a 2p1h semifinal entry against i.suk in the 2019 World Tournament and an entry in the 2020 Pen Spinning Olympics Multipen category.[2][12][13][14]
He developed variants of tipped sonic performed fingerlessly without using the thumb, based off of demonstrations performed prior by OhYeah!, using these techniques in his Pen Spinning World Tournament 2019 run.[15]

He faced Enigma in the semifinals and finished third in the tournament. The third-place match was awarded to him automatically after Robin did not submit a video.[25][26]

Gollumsk8 faced LaYe in Round 2. LaYe advanced into the published Round 3 bracket, ending Gollumsk8’s run in Round 2.[28][29]

He participated in the FPSB league organized by Aaytowi2. Penspinning.fr selected his Round 5 entry among its five featured combos for January 2016, noting its length of more than 30 seconds.[30]

Gollumsk8 reached the final after defeating Taeko, Yua, GSL, and Van. He finished runner-up to Sirapob, losing the final 3–2.[32][33][34][35]

Pen Mods
8Namae: A July 2010 tutorial by Elouan credits Gollumsk8 with inventing this double-capped mod. The published specifications give a length of 21 cm and a weight of 19 g. Its construction uses a Namae body, Dong_a caps, Spoko grips, HGG and G2 EX tips, and gold-colored Dr. Grip rings.[60]
IM* Hybrid: Gollumsk8 used this mod in his 2017 World Tournament run and in parts of WT19. His own video descriptions credit the IM* Hybrid to VT.[61][48]
Menowa* VGG and multipen equipment: His WT19 early-round uploads identify a Menowa* VGG. For the 2019 semifinal, he described using two Ivan mods with Pentel watercolor bodies. His WT21 Round 3 description identifies a Menowa* VGG made by Neirda.[44][13][62]
Ballsign-based mod: In October 2019, Gollumsk8 documented rebuilding a mod using an old Ballsign body. His finished version used filed caps, a white insert, white Dr. Grip grip, and Signo tips. In the discussion, Tidus suggested the name Gollum Ballsign Mod or GBM.[63]
