The Dr. KT is a heavy mod created by RYO. It is notable for being one of the first heavy mods in a time where light mods were the norm.
Retrospectively, it was considered a leap ahead in modding technology at the time, as it had vastly more momentum than prior mods.
Construction
Parts needed
Parts and construction from Penmodding.pm.[1]
- 2x Keityo Sign Pen (one barrel and two large caps)
- 3x Sailor (grips in colors silver, red and blue)
- 2x Dr. Grip Shaker (tips)
Text tutorial
- Remove the Keityo small cap and backplug, then remove the ink tube. Refit the backplug and fit a large Keityo cap onto each end of the barrel.
- Cut the silver Sailor grip into four sections of two rings each.
- Cut each coloured Sailor grip into sections of three, two and eight rings.
- Fit the sections onto each cap, working from the barrel toward the tip, in this order: three coloured rings, two silver rings, two coloured rings, two silver rings, eight coloured rings.
- Push a Dr. Grip tip into the overhanging eight-ring grip section at each end.

Variations
Popular variations consist of changing the Sailor grips to Dr. Grip grips and substituting Keityo caps for Pentel ColorTwin caps or ACT caps. Usually the barrel is also substituted with barrels such as CT, ACT, Miffy & Melanie and Crayola SuperTips.
