Iful G3 (Old and new)

The Iful G3s are two personal mods made by Iful.

Construction of the Old Iful G3

Parts needed

List from Iful's twitter:

• 1x G3 (barrel and plastic tip)
• 1x Zebra Hyperjell (cap and grip)
• 1x Pilot G2 (grip)
• 1x Pilot Hi-Tec-C (tip and rubber stopper in the cap)
• 2x Pilot Frixion Colors (Metal ring)
• 1x Supergrip MP (grip + nib inside the tip)
• 1x Pentel Color Twin (big and small cap)

Additional Items

• Tape
• An insert

Text tutorial

Preparation

1. Prepare the G3 barrel by sanding the round and square bumps on the front.
2. Cut 2 blocks of G3 grip.
3. Hollow the big CT cap, keep the nub.
4. Cut the fins of the nub of the CT cap.
5. Cut the stripes of the Supergrip grip from the flat side.
6. Cut the fins of the plastic piece of the Frixion Colors cap.
7. Cut 5 mm of Hyper Jell grip.
8. Cut the stripes of the G2 grip from the flat side, then cut one stripe.
9. File the bump of the big CT cap.
10. File the side of the Plastic G3 tip (until it can fit inside the Frixion cap).

Assembly

Front side

1. Place the 1cm of small CT cap onto the front of the g3 barrel.
2. Place 2 blocks of G3 grip next to the 1cm section of the small CT cap.
3. Put the Supergrip stripes onto the big CT cap (where the bump was)
4. Put the G3 rubber stopper inside the Frixion Color plastic piece.
5. Put the Hitec tip inside onto the plastic piece.
6. Place 5mm of Hyperjell grip onto the base of the Hitec tip and the plastic piece.
7. Put the tip assembly inside the big CT cap's big side.
8. Put the big CT cap onto the front of the G3.

Cap side

1. Put the rubber part of the Frixion Color cap inside the CT cap nub.
2. Put the G3 plastic tip inside the cap.
3. Put the G2 stripes inside the cap (Except the one that was cut).
4. Put the Supergrip mp nib inside the Hitec rubber stopper, then put the Hitec rubber stopper at the very top of the cap.
5. Connect the cap to the G3 barrel

Construction of the New Iful G3

Parts needed

• 1x G3 (barrel, grip and backplug)
• 1x Signo DX (tip, grip)
• 2x Hyperjell (cap and grip)
• 1x Pilot Dr. Grip (metal eraser cover and metal ring)
• 1x Pilot Hi-Tec-C (tip)
• 1x Sakura Ballsign (Backplug)
• 1x Pilot Supergel (Cap)

Preparation

1. Cut the clip of the Supergel cap.
2. Prepare the G3 barrel by sanding the round and square bumps on the front.
3. Cut 1 block of G3 grip.
4. Cut 1cm of Hyperjell grip.
5. Cut the dome part of the G3 backplug.

Assembly

Front side

1. Put 1cm of Hyperjell grip on the front of the G3.
2. Stack the Signo tip onto the G3 tip.
3. Cover the tip package with the whole Signo DX grip.
4. Put the Dr. Grip metal ring into the Signo Dx grip.

Cap side

1. Put the Ballsign backplug into the domeless G3 backplug.
2. Put the metal eraser cover of Dr grip onto the remaining exposed section of Ballsign backplug.
3. Place the G3 backplug back into the barrel.
4. Put the Hi-tec tip inside the Supergel cap.
5. Put 1 block of G3 grip then the remaining Hyperjell grip inside the Supergel cap.
6. Connect the Supergel cap to the backplug stack on the G3 barrel.
