The Pilot Opt Shaker is the mechanical pencil twin to the Pilot Opt Ballpoint Pen. Its shaker mechanism is powered by a heavy coiled spring. It differs from the ballpoint pen by its heavier tip with fixed protruding lead protective sleeve, back clicker with covered eraser, and single piece plastic sub-body.

It is usually used for its metal tip, grip, and decorative outer shell, however, the sub-body has been used in the White Stick V2 as an internal cap.

The Pilot Opt in both variations has also been collaboratively licensed a number of times which has provided new grip colors as well as decorative shells.
