Released in 2012[1] by Zombo, a theoretical method is described to allow transformations to be applied to existing combos to result in new derivative combos.
Zombo's Structural Stability Theory

First released in 2012[2], Zombo proposed a system of analysing the structure of a combo by defining elements as 'stable' or 'unstable' and tracking the transitions between stability and instability. This would then be used to aid in constructing combos that created particular aesthetic feelings.

In 2010[3] Zombo released an article detailing his observations made to answer the question "What is Pen Spinning, exactly?". It was considered one of the foundations of pen spinning philosophy.
