The GioGear is a Titan Gear type mod invented by Magiai as the cheapest possible variation of the Titan Gear.

Construction

Parts needed

List from Magiai's blog:[1]

  • 2x Giotto Turbo Maxi (Everything except ink and backplugs)
  • 1x Small plastic tube
    • The non-stretched one used in the tutorial can fit inside a Flexgrip
  • 1x SuperTips-diameter barrel section (approximately 4 cm; centre connector)

Text tutorial[2]

  1. Empty both Giotto Turbo Maxi barrels. Cut and retain 7 mm from the front of each barrel.

  2. Scrape out the obstruction inside both retained front sections, as shown by the before-and-after photograph.

  3. Separate each cap’s inner part from its outer shell. Retain 3 cm of the cap’s flat outer section and cut 8 mm from the flat end of the inner part.

  4. Fit the flat inner-cap section over the narrow end of the retained Giotto front section. Fit the remaining inner-cap piece inside its wider opening.

  5. Cut a ring from the small plastic tube and fit it around this assembly to prevent rattling. Place the assembly into the remaining barrel front in the reversed orientation shown: its narrow end faces the barrel and its wider opening faces outward.

  6. Fit the prepared outer cap over the assembly. Stretch a section of plastic tube over the cap so that it joins the cap to the barrel front and retains the nested pieces. Repeat at the other end. Add stretched plastic-tube sections to the barrels as decorative grips.

  7. Fit a 1 cm plastic-tube sleeve over the centre of an approximately 4 cm SuperTips-diameter barrel connector. Join both Giotto barrels over this connector.
