The Ivan Mod is a personal mod made by Ivan. It is sometimes wrongly called the Buster CYL v2, due to how it was popularized.
The mod was popularized by Supawit when he used it in the Pen Spinning World Tournament 2011. This came as a surprise as viewers originally thought he used a Buster.
It was commonly built due to the widespread availability of SuperTips but the limited availability of Comssa parts outside of Korea.
The original version used Dr. Grip grips and Hyper Jell grips instead of Airfit and Anyball.[1]
Construction
Parts needed
- 2x SuperTips (barrel)
- 2x Airfit/Dr. Grip Shaker (tip, grip)
- 1x (Optional) Anyball/Hyper Jell (grip)
Text tutorial
- Empty both SuperTip markers by removing the backplug and marker's ink.
- Cut one of the barrels from each side to 4cm.
- Plug both of the 4cm parts to the other uncut in order to get 1 individually long barrel.
- Cut the Airfit grip in half
- Cut two sections, each with two rings, of Anyball grip and place on both sides of the barrel.
- Place both cut Airfit grips on each side of the barrel.
- Insert tips into the Airfit grips on both sides.
