It treated Normal, Sonic, and [[Gunman]] as base families and defined [[modifier|modifiers]] that could describe how a movement differed from its base form. Kondoh is considered the "Grandfather of Pen Spinning" to the wider community, having been the first individual to document, expand upon and share information about pen spinning to the world. He directly influenced communities like [[JEB]]<ref name="imidas" /> and [[Pentix]] that directly built upon the work that he had done. His introduction of modifiers in [[Notation]] is still one of the foundations of the hobby today, and many trick families can directly trace their routes back to the original trick sets that he published online.
