The '''Pen Spinning World Cup''' is a team based international competition that was first started by [[Zombo]] in 2008. Following on from the success of the [[Pen Spinning World Tournament 2007]], the [[Pen Spinning World Cup]] cemented a tradition of holding an international competition every year, with World Cups on even years and [[World Tournaments]] on odd years. This tradition was upheld until 2016, when the world cup was not organized by Zkhan, organizer of the [[Pen Spinning World Tournament 2017]].

The event used to be limited to specific communities and did not require a qualification round, but with the advent of communities like [[LPSA]] signing up alongside their traditional country communities like [[GPC]], qualification was added in 2014 so that only the highest scoring boards would enter into single elimination events.
