Kuzu’s G3 Mod Mechanical Pencil

From Fen Spinner Wiki

Kuzu’s G3 Mod Mechanical Pencil is a retractable variation of the KUzu G3 (UPSB ver.) by Swifty. It incorporates a mechanical-pencil mechanism while retaining the base mod’s length and weight.[1]

Construction

Parts needed

  • 1 Pilot G-3 (barrel)
  • 1 Pentel Icy mechanical pencil (mechanism and rear section; a G-2 mechanical pencil can be substituted)
  • 1 Zebra Hyper Jell (cap, grip and ink tube)
  • 2 Uni-ball Signo tips
  • 1 Signo DX grip
  • Anyball, Profile or SGM grip material
  • 2 Pilot Hi-Tec-C tips
  • 1 Hybrid Gel Grip tip
  • Tape

Text tutorial

  1. Gather the components for a normal Kuzu’s G3 mod, leaving off the G-3 backcap. Keep the Pentel Icy mechanical-pencil body, mechanism and ink tube.
  2. Cut the front of the Icy to exactly 4 cm, including its metal tip. Empty and wash the Hyper Jell ink tube, then join it to the Icy ink tube with tape.
  3. Cut the G-3 body straight and attach it with tape to the Icy tip assembly. The front section should be 5 cm long.
G-3 body cuts and 1.5 cm retained sections

  4. Stack the front tips in this order: Icy mechanical-pencil tip, Hi-Tec-C tip, then Signo tip. Add the grips as for a normal Kuzu’s G3 and test the mechanism.
  5. Add an insert. Tape the rear of the G-3 body so the Hyper Jell cap cannot move but can still click to extend the lead.
  6. Assemble a cap tip stack from a Signo tip, Hi-Tec-C tip and HGG tip in the illustrated order. Cut the Hyper Jell cap grip to 2.5 cm, place the stack inside the cap with the Signo tip projecting, and leave a 1 cm gap.
  7. Trim the Hyper Jell ink tube so 4 cm extends from the rear of the G-3 body. Add tape so it fits the cap grip, then assemble and test the retractable mod.[2]
